She completed her AMS Primary Montessori training in the summer of 2018 and is in her internship year, finishing her certification in May 2019. Amie has been working specifically in early childhood education for over 6 years and working with children for over 13 years. Amie has been teaching yoga for over 10 years and is a 500 hr. yoga alliance trained teacher with many additional hours of advanced study in Yoga and Ayurveda.
Bethany Rachel
Bethany is our assistant guide and has over 10 years experience in childcare, not including her own children. She has 5 children ranging from the ages of 3 to 11. She operated her own in-home licensed daycare for 3 years and then found working in an early childcare center was a better fit. Bethany has two year experience being a lead teacher in a toddler classroom. When the child care center closed, she worked as a trained doula. Loving her work, but finding the unpredictable schedule of births was not compatible with having small children of her own, Bethany has been looking for the right fit to continue working with young children and has found it here at MCHL.
Kim Carter
Kim is our afternoon assistant and cares for the children in the afternoon extended care. She born and raised here in Lawrence, KS. Kim attended the University of Evansville in Indiana earning her BS in Elementary Education. After graduating, she taught 5th grade in Independence, Missouri for two years before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado with her husband and our two dogs Halo and Angel. While teaching at a preschool in Fort Collins she was reminded of her love for the Montessori approach to education and began working on my Primary Guide certification through the Age of Montessori program. Kim will complete her internship sometime in the next 1-2 years and is excited to be a part of the MCHL family.
